Recent prices for this product start at $65.95. The San Damiano Cross is famous for its association with St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis was praying before this crucifix icon when he received his commission from Christ to rebuild His church. In a day when the modern Church is in much need of rebuilding, many Christians look to this cross as a symbol of renewing this commission from God as part of the New Evangelization. What a great way to remind ourselves or a loved one of this call by wearing the San Damiano Crucifix necklace. This engraved sterling silver crucifix contains the detail of the original San Damiano Icon Cross that still hangs in Assisi, Italy. The crucifix is called an icon cross because it tells a story. Surrounding the image of the transfigured Christ are the saints who played a role in his Passion, reminding each of us of our role to play in God's plan. This sterling silver San Damiano Crucifix measures 1.5" long and comes with a 20" rhodium plated stainless steel chain. This necklace is ideal for a male or female, and would be a perfect gift for anyone with a special devotion to St. Francis, confirmation candidate or to building up the Church. It is also an ideal size for personalized engraving to add that special touch for your loved one. | Sterling Silver San Damiano Crucifix with 20 Inch Chain
